Danielle led the North Penn girls swim team to a PIAA State Championship in 1991. She swam on the 200m Medley Relay which placed first and set a new PIAA State record; at the end of the season the 200m Medley relay team was ranked number one Nation; at the PIAA AAA State Swim meet she won the 100m butterfly and set a new PIAA meet record in the 50m freestyle. “Swim Magazine” ranked the 1991 North Penn Girls swim team #1 in the Nation.  Danielle was named to the NISCA (National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association) High School All-American Team in three events: 50 freestyle, 100m butterfly and the 200m Medley Relay.  She qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1988, 92, 96 and swam at the Olympic Festival in 1990.  She was World ranked in the 100m & 200m Butterfly in 1990 &1991.

College: Danielle attended the University of Texas and graduated 1997 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.  During her time at the University of Texas she qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships all four years and was a 13 time NCAA All American.  In her senior year she co-captain the swim team and won the 100m butterfly at the Big 12 Championships where she was named most “valuable female athlete” ; because of all her Texas accomplishments she received the “Jill Sterkel Spirit Award.”  Danielle was ranked in the top 25 in the world in the 100 & 200 butterfly in the 1990 & 1991 World Rankings. She was a member of the U.S. National Jr. Team from 1998 to 1991 and traveled with the team to compete in France, Germany, and Canada.
