Stan lettered in Football, Basketball, Track, 220 Low Hurdles and Javelin at LHS.  He was Captain of the 1934 Football Team, and won the Most Valuable Football Player Trophy in 1933, lettering four years.  At Bluffton, Stan played Football and Track, where he Captained both teams. After college, he returned to Lansdale to play Football (Running Guard) for the Semi-Pro Team, The Silver Hawks, 1946-1947.  He later competed in the Senior Olympics in the State of Pennsylvania, bringing home medals in Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, and the 100-Yard Dash.  Stan remained very active in Lansdale throughout his entire life, serving on Lansdale Library Board, Grace Mennonite Church Council, Spiritual Council Deacon, Choir Director, Choir Mentor, and Quartet Member. He served with the Germantown Mennonite Board and had the Fretz Building named after him by the Bluffton College Board of Trustees.
